Ellen Gough's lecture will focus on the relationship between enlightenment, or omniscience (kevala), and final liberation (mokṣa, nirvāṇa) in the Ācārāṅgasūtra, comparing it with other Jain and non-Jain accounts of enlightenment and liberation.

Jain Ethics in Philosophical Perspective
On March 30, 2015, the Jain Studies Program hosted the Fifth Annual Mahavir Jayanthi Lecture, "Jain Ethics in Philosophical Perspective", by Jayandra Soni, Innsbruck University, Austria. Dr. Soni's lecture reflected on the Jain story of the person trapped in a well to discuss questions of predicament, purification, salvation and liberation.
